You don’t have to speak up here if you don’t want to
I know that speaking in a ‘group’ setting online doesn’t come naturally to everyone. That’s okay. It’s also smart to lurk for a period of time before diving in with your own comments on a group that is new to you. I’m often uncomfortable on forums. I usually do more lurking than posting unless I just feel like adding something to the discussion.
Silence here is okay. It doesn’t mean that you aren’t focused on your studies here or that you don’t have important ideas or that you aren’t committed to your studies. That is not a failure on your part. I would love for each and every one of you to participate whenever you have something to say, but it won’t be held against you in any way if you don’t. You aren’t judged or ‘graded’ on your participation on this forum.
So if anyone has a topic to discuss, feel free to speak up. If nobody has a topic to add, I’ll keep on adding from my own pool of topics and ideas.
I was going to add a topic a few days ago but I wasn't sure if I was able to post links to anything.. (and I couldn't find it anyways....)
But, did anyone else help to notice that commercials are now adding medical codes in there?!
I was watching TV with my fiance one night, and I happened to see a commercial ( I think for health insurance? not sure) and at the end they showed a few codes! I actually made him rewind and pause the TV so I could read the code! I didn't have my coding books at the time or I would have looked it up to see if it was real. And I haven't seen it again to look them up. I just tried to YouTube it but have no clue what it was for so it kinda ended up useless.
I just thought it was interesting that they mentioned codes on TV! Most people I talk to know nothing about medical coding, so it's good to see it getting some more recognition! :)
I have seen those commercials as well, I do believe they are for insurance companies but not positive either. They might be ICD-9 codes, I haven't managed to write them down when I see it to check the ICD-10 to see if they are real either.
Those ads are hilarious! We have one posted here someplace. It must be over on the Off-Topic section.
It is okay to post links in this case because they are loosely considered educational, even though they are advertising a product or service, which would usually NOT be okay.
