Hi Linda. Just wanted to share that I passed the CCS yesterday and again extend a great big thank you to the wonderful staff at Andrews for all your patience and assistance in the process of prepping for the exam.
It has been a whirlwind this last year with my recent promotion from Transcription Coordinator to HIM Manager; however, having the CCS under my belt was the first piece of my continuing education in this ever-changing field of HIM that I wanted to accomplish. To any of the MTs out there considering or already making the transition to coding - it is a natural fit and progression and the extensive knowledge you already possess will benefit you greatly when you sit for the exam. You have a great foundation!
My goal now is to continue to pursue my education in the other aspects of HIM, mainly Compliance, ensuring staff are kept up-to-date with all the current changes, as well as Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), an up-and-coming hot field in HIM and relatively new area in our department (and one in which knowledge of coding regulations is fundamental to success).
Thanks again Andrews! Well worth the money and time.
