We have a great group of people here. Just wanted to take a moment just to welcome all of you and let you know that you've got lots of encouragement and support here.
The most important thing to remember is: ASK QUESTIONS
The next most important thing to remember is that there are some difficult areas that most courses don't go through. That's why our graduates pass employment tests that others can't pass. That doesn't make it any easier going through it though. We understand that. We'll help you through it. Just scream...I mean, just ask. [Very Big Welcoming Grin]
Congratulations on your decision to enroll in Andrews. We're so blessed to have you here with us. Get ready for a wonderful and challenging journey.
Come here often for encouragement, success stories, helpful suggestions and instruction, and sometimes just laughs (smiling every time I think of olive or grapeseed oil).
As a coding student, I can attest that help is available for the asking to guide you through difficult sections. Help is here in this forum and the module forums, from Linda, Glenda, and your instructors. Occasionally just forming a question to reveal your thought processes so your instructor can get an idea of what/how you're thinking gives you the answer to your question, but do please ask - everyone here is pulling for your success - it brings confidence to all of us.
Again, welcome. So very happy to have you.
Beautifully stated, Kim, except for the olive oil and grapeseed oil comment I mean. Just kidding. Instructor Peggy doesn't let me forget mistaking a skin care product for cooking oil either. :( {pout}
Just pitching in another welcome to the new students. This is a very challenging course, but you do have help. When you are stuck on exercises or even tests, send a note to Glenda and she will forward it to your instructor. Don't be shy about that. They want you to succeed and you cannot do that if you don't understand. So ask questions. I have found that the instructors give very practical feedback, even on test questions where they don't say "here is the correct answer" but they can suggest that you look here or there or give examples and other guidance to help you figure it out.
And that written work where when you miss a question on the test you have to write the error, correction and analyze why you missed it and how now you understand it, that is one of the best learning tools. It takes time, but certainly brings into focus the problem.
Anyway, welcome and come visit us on the forum.
