Hi all-
I finally figured out that my laptop is interferring with the test questions. Specifically, my mouse seems to jump around and randomly change answers sometimes. Even if I doublecheck my answers before submitting wonky things can happen.
I'll have to use one of my USB ports and a separate mouse. I will also figure out how to optimally adjust the settings on my laptop. It's a Samsung Q530, just in case anyone else runs into this. I HATE missing a perfect score. Grrrr.
That is strange! I'm glad you figured it out though.
My laptop can be a bit spastic with the touchpad. Once I turned it off and rely on the mouse, it's fine.
My keyboard does funky things occasionally. Sometimes will not insert the period and allofmywordsarecrammedtogether! (It was hard to do that on purpose!). I usually have to reboot my computer and then it will work fine.
It just happened again and I saw it. I was scrolling down, the multiple choice answers started flashing, and my answer changed. I went back through the test and sure enough, there were 2 other changed answers. I think I am going to start saving after every answer.
I don't mean to bother anyone by posting and I know this issue sounds a little weird, only I feel like I need to speak up in case it helps anyone else. I received 100% on the test, btw.
Thanks, and will look out for that happening on my laptop. Actually, there was a time or two where I swore I put the answer in, and it was not answered at the end of the test, and this did puzzle me.
Terry had a good suggestion to turn off the pad and rely on the mouse. I'm definitely going to double check all my answers. Thanks for bringing this up. Glad you still got 100%.
I use a MacBook Pro and haven't had the issue. Are you using Internet Explorer as your browser? If so you might need to empty your internet temporary files and change the settings so IE empties internet temporary files automatically.
Hi Carmen,
No, I use Mozilla and have some good virus software installed. I'm fairly proficient with troubleshooting and haven't figured out what is going on yet. I haven't seen this issue come up anywhere but the quizzes on this site.
I think I'll make a case to my husband about using part of our tax refund for a new laptop, though. :) Thanks for the ideas and I hope that your upcoming move goes smoothly. Any chance you will end up in our neck of the woods in Dallas?
I've never used Mozilla, but you can troubleshoot your browser by installing another browser and seeing how the next test works. I'd install Safari over IE though because it's a lot easier to uninstall. I hope you get it figured out. That's gotta be frustrating, but a new laptop sounds good to me. :) I LOVE my MacBook Pro.
We don't have an upcoming move any time soon. We still have to finish our house, which (since we're doing it ourselves between everything else - so it takes low priority right now because of this course) will probably take another year. We're pretty sure we're going to end up in the CT-rural NY area. Very healthy clean eating in restaurants, more stringent laws as far as food, numerous organic farmers markets, etc, etc, etc. We lived in San Antonio for 12 years before we moved overseas. I don't have anything against Texas but I don't want to move back to Texas either. Visiting is fine with me. :D
