Hi I'm new--
This is partly to see how the infrastructure works, and also to really say hi...
Howdy!
I hope the calendar function becomes operational-- I'd like to put notes in.
Anyhow, not the last y'all'll hear from me! :)
Hi Dennis!! I have never used the Calendar option. It may be a feature we have not fully incorporated into our website yet. We do have 2020 dates under the link "2020 Andrews School Office Closing Schedule" under Discussion.
Hi Dennis!
I tend to use a calendar on my phone or through my email, that way I get more reliable notifications or emails to remind me of important dates! You could always give that a try instead of using the one on here, especially if it doesn't work quite the way you'd like.
Hey, Dennis!
I'm new as of this week as well. I tried to use the calendar option myself, was sad it didn't work. But it inspired me to organize Google Calendar and make it functional with notifications, etc. It's pretty easy to figure out after you mess with it for a few minutes.
Yea...
I thought it would be good to use the School's calendar to mark milestones, notes, &c...
Thinking more long-term though, seems good to try to get into a personal work-flow for tracking these kinds of things. Not sure what I'm gonna use yet, but gonna try to build good habits now :)
Welcome. I'll admit, when I started last year, I was very hopeful with the calendar feature as well. I also bought a small school calendar that I could take with me. I have since stopped using both, but the paper calendar morphed into a calendar in OneNote. I bought calendar pages for it through Etsy. I like it because I can have the same calendar continually updated on my laptop, both tablets, and my phone. It did take some work to get it how I like it, but I can have everything for school, work, personal, and crafting all in one place. If you don't have MSOffice products, GoodNotes can do the same thing.
Is OneNote a MSOffice product? I've never heard of it, and I'd be very interested in something that crosses over like that. Can you also set it up to give you notifications for certain things, or is it more of a digital planner that just jots down events and things like that?
I'm using this as a chance to organize myself in other areas as well. Separating work from school from life, and then organizing them in a less overwhelming way. That is why I wasn't completely heartbroken that the calendar feature on here wasn't exactly what I needed. Forced me to look into other options that I'll be able to take with me after school anyway.
It is a MSOffice product. I don't think you can set it up to give notifications because it is actually a digital notebook. i ended up making it into a calendar with the stuff from Etsy. You can probably set something up in Outlook's calendar though. I thought OneNote was more user friendly than the calendar in Outlook. I can use OneNote like a notebook for taking notes on anything or for the calendar. It just makes things so much easier
