Hi everyone. These chapters are enormous and I am very concerned about being able to take in all this information. These are 50-60 pages of reading for each chapter. Also, does anyone live near Burnt Hills, NY or Saratoga, NY that is in module 1 who would like a study buddy to help each other out????? This would really be great for me. I am on or around section 6. Not sure if I did the subject line right...Happy Labor Day to all. My nickname is Minny or Min, which everyone calls me and is easier. Thanks in advance. Minny
Take a deep breath!
It's impossible to memorize everything you need to know to be a successful coder. The goal is to be familiar with the material so you will know where to find it when the need arises. You will see all of this information again in future modules.
All of the exams are open book so be sure to refer to your text for every question. Don't just guess or choose an answer because you "think" it''s correct.
Professional coders often work on their own with minimal input from others and need to develop the skills to learn new concepts and research for needed information. Our goal is for you to develop these skills as you work through the modules so for this reason we don't recommend having a study buddy.
Let me know when you get confused about something and I'll walk you through the process.
Thanks Debby. Honestly, that was really helpful. The actual coding part I seem to be doing well with...it's all the other stuff like the heart, ventricles, atrium, how it pumps, varoceles....I mean wow. It is just so much stuff there. One more question Debbie, these 2 chapters are incredibly long, way more so than any of the other chapters....Should these chapters take me three times longer than the others because if so, I think I am going to be behind. Thanks and have a great weekend. Miriam
The deadlines are set with an understanding of how much work is included in each block. Some sections may take you a bit longer than others but just keep moving ahead one step at a time.
It's a good thing to make sure you are using your study time effectively and without distractions. A timer works really well for this. I used one when I was a student and am still using it to keep track of work time. Try this. When you sit down to study - start the timer. When you get up for something, check your email or to talk with a family member - stop the timer. Keep track of this for a few days and you will be able to see exactly how much time is spent on your studies.
Have a great weekend!
