Congratulations!!!
Thank you, Linda! I can't believe I'm finished. Woohoo! Congratulations, Carmel!!!!
Congratulations Carmel and Carmen! Hard work huh!!!!!! Isnt it the greatest feeling ever?
It sure was and it sure is! Thank you! Not nearly has great as getting a job though.;D
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You both did a great job!!!
Thank you so much, Debby! Once I focused on RATS, things suddenly became easier. ;) Ive thanked my husband for that many times over. lol
Congratulations Carmel and Carmen!
What is RATS?
Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! Welcome to the end of the tunnel!
Hi Linda - I was missing a few major details from rapid reading and my husband who's an airplane parts QC Inspector and who reads a lot of blueprints told me they have a saying at work called RATS, which means read all the sh*t. So I kept that in mind and it helped immensely. lol
Thanks so much, Katie!
Thank you, Terry! No kidding on the tunnel. I actually started and finished a book a few nights ago. I mean a fiction book. A real honest to goodness fictional story. lol. That was temporary though. I'm now sleeping with my ICD-9 guidelines.
Tell me about it! I've been coding during the day and dreaming coding at night. My nightmare is that I've forgotten to turn off the stopwatch app on my tablet, and I have no idea how many charts I've done and how long I have to go before I can stop! Loving the job though. Wish I had known it existed years ago.
Congrats again!
Thanks, Carmen. That makes sense. It's now going to be hard to forget that saying now that I know what it means. :)
Terry, Im so glad to hear that you're lovin' it! Keep us updated.
I know exactly what you mean about wishing you knew about coding a few years ago. I feel the same way. I am in sponge mode and I love the encoder we're using. It's pretty darn amazing!!!
Encoders are a great tool as long as you don't rely on them entirely. I'm reading some articles though that are horror stories about people who learned on encoders. Now that's the only way they can code. They can't pass exams or get credentials because they can't code by the book. They can't change employers unless they use the same system.
Long Story Alert: A deacon at our church is also on the Board of Directors of a local hospital. After church one Sunday he said, "Hey Linda, don't you teach coding? We got rid of some of our coders and started using encoding machines. When we lost about $300,000 in income we realized we needed coders who knew how to code, not just a couple who knew how to use encoders. We got the coders back and income is coming back up again.
I know, Linda. That is why I am so glad I learned the books really well because of your course.
The encoder I'm using for work though is more book based than logic based (I think the logic based ones are where seasoned coders have issues with the certifications and using books), so it is like using the coding books but you see a smaller frame of the coding book, and I am also using my expander to save typing out full terms, so it makes me a little more efficient. I have 12 years of medical terms and phrases, so glad I can still use. The information pulls up exactly like the coding books. It's pretty great!
Congratulations!!!
Thank you ALL so much!!! I honestly still am reeling...still think I'm dreaming...I am giddy and I know that will last up until I start grinding for the CCS lol..
Thank you Linda, Debby, Glenda, and everyone else at the world's best coding school, Andrews! I am so proud to be an Andrews grad I can't even express it.
Congrats to my fellow graduates, we worked hard and we helped pull, push, and sometimes unwillingly DRAG each other up that hill and it has paid off!
Thank you all again...and yes, yes, I know-- onto the CCS!
Reading these posts has been very inspiring. I am at the end of Module IV. It has been a brutal albeit extremely educational journey. Graduating from Andrews will absolutely add to my already vast experience (as an MT) However, the future is still so uncertain. I have surprised myself with how much I enjoy the coding process, and certainly hope I can find a remote position down the road!
