Dear Friends and Fellow Students:

I was and always look at the Discussions and I see that medical coding students have posted writing in their books and I would like to know what books they are writing in that uses the bible pencils. I would like to make sure I am should be writing in books and for what purpose. I am in Module 1 Section 4 and I am confused about writing in the books. Thanks and I hope I do not sound stupid that I do not know this and if I should be writing notes.

I'm starting Mod I, Section 11 and so far, I've only used sticky notes. For Turley I even just use a notebook because if I want to re-do some execises, I have a blank slate (without my answers to give me hints). Only stickies in the ICD-10-CM code book. I'm expecting the "Write in the book" light-bulb to go off at some time in the future.

You can write notes in any of your text books. The Bible highlighters are the best choice for making notes in your code books (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS). The reason for this is that the pages are so thin that the ink from regular highlighters will bleed through the page and make it very hard to read. Neat and concise notes in the code books are allowed for both the CCS and CPC certification exams.
