You can write notes in any of your text books. The Bible highlighters are the best choice for making notes in your code books (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS). The reason for this is that the pages are so thin that the ink from regular highlighters will bleed through the page and make it very hard to read.
Neat and concise notes in the code books are allowed for both the CCS and CPC certification exams.
