Congratulations Denise! That is such a tough test, and you are now a Certified Coding Specialist.
Denise already had passed the CPC exam. Double Honors! :)
Way to go, Denise! You're an inspiration to all of us!
Thank you, Linda!! Yes, it is a VERY tough test. I spent the last 2 weeks or so studying with the 2013 version of the Professional Review Guide for the CCS Examination by Patricia Schnering. A ton of good information and a ton of Case Studies to practice code. This was my second try, and I learned to get through the 81 multiple-choice and 8 multiple-response items quickly (1st hour or so) so I could leave myself about 3 hours to code the 12 cases. I had about 10 minutes left after I finished the entire exam to go back and check the multiple-answer questions I flagged.
I was VERY happy to pass it now, before it goes to ICD-10 on April 7. Time now to update that resume and job hunt in earnest!
Thank you, Sara!
Congratulations, Denise!
Congrats Denise!!! Whew, that was a toughy right? I think I stressed worse about the CPC test though which was longer. I studied the same book you did for the CCS. Just really glad to get it behind me. You will not be able to wipe the smile off your face for a while. Good Luck with your future.
Congratulations, Denise!
