Praying I can do this. Until today, my school days were a very distant memory. I'm an MT for 18 years looking to increase my skills and employability.
Welcome Sandra ! If I can do it you can too. !
Welcome! I am so glad to see you here. You can do this. We have the very best of students, graduates, and instructors to help you reach your goal.
I'm so glad you got in before Memorial Day so you can get acquainted and settled in over the long weekend.
Enjoy your studies!
You’ll do fine I am sure. As an MT, you have the advantage of already knowing your medical terminology. That’s the hardest part for me so far. I catch on to meanings and such very quickly, but am a horrible speller and I am determined I am going to learn to spell and pronounce the words correctly. I have been out of school since 2010. My education was done through distance education, even my high school studies which were done through the mail in the late 90s, so at least I am acquainted with the distance education model. Have fun and study smart!
Hi Sandra ~ Welcome! I also have prior MT experience (20+ years). Your background in medical terminology is definitely an advantage. You will have medical terminology questions on your credentialing exams. I find it easier to code op notes at work with my MT background -- I have a good understanding of what is routine in that procedure and what is not routine. I was a heavy op note transcriber in the past. That was my favorite type of report to transcribe. :)
