The BOOKMARK Tradition
It has been a long time since I explained the Andrews School "BOOKMARK" tradition. We had a problem---if you can call getting gifts from new graduates a problem. I suggested that students send me bookmarks whenever they were tempted to send gifts. I had first suggested rocks or "pebbles of learning." Unfortunately, some of you started spending money on them. The idea is NOT to do that. It was also wreaking havoc on the postal system when people enclosed a small rock in an envelope. :)
I like the tradition of bookmarks. This is a tradition I would like to encourage. A bookmark says something about the person who chose it. They have personality. Graduates can send one in celebration of graduating. Students can send one when they make their last payment. You can send one in honor of whatever it is you are celebrating.
Don't spend money on gifts for the school. Send bookmarks.
