Hello all,
We are being prepared for the CPC and CCS exams during the Medical Coding course, but does this also prepare us to sit in for the COC (CPC-H) exam?
Thank you!
Yes, you are. The COC covers facility coding. That is included on the CCS exam, though, so passing the CCS also covers that.
We encourage the CPC because it is the most widely known or general of the AAPC certifications. It is the one most coders begin with. It covers physician services, which are the services least addressed by the CCS. That and the CCS have you covered.
If you are thinking about taking the COC, let us know.
Thanks, Instructor Peggy! I am considering it, but will let the school know if I decide to pursue it.
If you decide to take it, we can advise on what you might need to review.
