I was feeling pretty good about myself, then I started Module II...
Hang in there, Diane. Just take baby steps. And when you are really stuck, be sure to e-mail your instructor. And if you mess up on a test and have to do all that analysis, just consider it another step in learning. That's what tests are for, to put a smiley face on the correct answers and another chance to understand where you went wrong on the missed answers.

Understandable, Diane. Just as you are developing some really good skills in Module I, we send you back to the beginning again - with completely new material - in Module II. There is a method to that madness though. You won't begin to see it until much later in the course, but it will eventually make sense.
Be sure to ask questions. Also, do exactly what you did today. Reach out to other students here. Just knowing that it does get better will help you past the part where you want to throw me out the window, with your books, and your computer, and your instructor. From my experience over the past 27 years I know that if I ask you about it in about three weeks, you will have gotten past this. You have something else at that point that you're wondering if you will ever learn - and then you will.
My part in this is worrying with and about each and every one of you. I do that even after you graduate. At that point I start wondering if any of our graduates will ever get a job or not - and then they do. But that doesn't stop me from saying what YOU said today...I was feeling pretty good about everything, then I had a new graduate struggling through very difficult material...then I was feeling pretty good about everything, until that student graduated and started looking for that first medical coding job.
I understand what you are saying. The struggle continues, but it's worth it.
Thank you Donna. I am getting my notes together on the questions that I have for my instructor. I didn't want to haunt her by giving her one at a time, I figured I would give her a bulleted list of things that I'm not absorbing. It's funny that you said that about understanding what went wrong. I stopped beating myself about the wrong answers and am now just looking at it as more research. Thanks for the encouragement!!
Thank you Linda! It made me feel good that you took the time out to write. I would never throw you out the window, and the books are wayyyy to heavy to do that ( hahaha). It is good to know that I will get in a groove again soon. Even though I'm not doing as well as I want to I won't let it get to me (at least I hope I won't). Linda, thank you for caring enough to write. That really means a lot!
Hey Diane! I remember when I first started Module II. I felt like I had hit a brick wall! It does get better! You've got this! Baby steps, as Donna says.
Thank you Kell! It is nice to know that I am not alone and that it will get better!
LOL! Same here!
It's somewhat comforting knowing that we are not alone, right.... HAHAHA We can do this!!
Hey, if it was easy, we wouldn't be learning, right?
Hang in there! It'll make sense eventually.
