E/M codes were the ones I found the toughest, too. I had to really look over my wrong answers in great detail when I got my exam back and had a few e-mails with Sue that helped me clarify it to some degree. Incidentally, my grade on that exam was the lowest I've gotten on any assignment since I started at Andrews.
They are the very devil.
But bear this in mind: I saw on the AAPC site yesterday that AAPC is offering a special 10-hour course JUST on E/M coding! Obviously, they are the devil even for experienced and certified coders, so take heart! It's not you, it's them!
E/M coding can be very difficult to learn and the best advice I can give you is to email Instructor Sue and she will work with you until you get it - that's what we are here for. The best time to learn the basics of CPT coding is while you are in Module II.
