After decades in transcription, my job is finally being outsourced to India at the of July. Glad I started Andrews last year, but wish I had started a couple of years ago when I first started thinking about it. This is the first time I have been terminated.
Officially got transcription pink slip today.
Yikes. I have been doing transcription for over 12 years. Lost first 2 jobs because they went to EHR. Job I have now only uses EHR so go figure. Same feeling though -- wish I had considered a career change years ago. Hopefully things will work out. <<hugs>>
I'm sorry to hear about your job being outsourced. Depending on your situation, you might want to look into TranscribeMe! They have different types of transcription work, including medical transcription. I'm in the medical coding course now but have never done medical transcription, so I'm not sure if the pay rates/or jobs they have are similar to what you've done but it might be worth a shot to look into it.
Good luck in your classes!
