How do you get things to 'stick in your head'? I am really frustrated that I asked a question for something that I had researched before, found the answer, but because of memory issues or stress or ? fill in the blank... How do you best remember things?
Great question!
I forget lots of things. A notebook helps. The one sitting beside me right now is a shorthand notebook. I know that I'll want to refer back to some of these notes, so at the very bottom of some of the pages I have little notes to myself to alert me that the information on that topic is on that page. Example: "Coding Employers" or "HOA" officers
Now that we can use electronic lists, I have 'searchable' lists of notes on different topics.
Hopefully some participants here who are more organized than I am will have some good ideas!
What I LOVE about these newer computers is the fact you can have "sticky" notes on your desktop.. you can even change the colors, and sizes. I find that having those in clear view of my desktop helps me keep track of appointments, or deadlines or just little notes to remind me of things.
I also do have a notebook, sometimes I feel that when I write something out it helps "stick" in my head a little more. I write down notes as I am reading chapters and I also write down any of the readings included in any of the sections. Reading it and writing it and then reading it back to myself (sometimes outloud) kinda helps me really learn it.
Hope I helped at least a little! :)
I thought of something else that has been greatly helpful, reading the material out loud. For some reason it seems to stick better if you read it silent, read it out loud, and if you can, write it.
