I am in Module III, Section 12 and all of a sudden not getting the best grades in the world. Actually I was very discouraged when I got my Coding Exam 6 results. I am wondering if anyone else out there has had the same problem and what did you do to better understand how to code the advanced cases? I am willing to study anything out there that will help my mind get to where it needs to be to help me pass my next coding exam. I am not even looking forward to sending in my last coding exam for module III. Please help!!!!!
Hi Michelle -
I don't have any words of wisdom, but just wanted to say I am having the very same problem. I have been doing well up until coding exam 6, and the wheels seemed to come off a bit for me. I also find myself dreading turning in this last exam and have lost a lot of confidence. I am hoping it is normal?
I will third that. Also just received my exam 6 results - worst I have done yet by far. Not the mindset I wanted going into the CPC next month. I plan to learn A LOT from my mistakes tomorrow and move on. ;-)
I felt the same way, failed exam 6, cried and emailed Glenda. Linda called me back and reassured me that it is not the worst thing in the world and we will all get stuck sometimes. I have to say that I know from taking the transcription course with Andrews that we are over prepared for everything and this course challenges us beyond anything I have been through.
I took my CPC exam last week and passed with just under a 90% on the first try so keep going! Even if you fail your way through the last few exams you are very well prepped for the CPC exam.
Wow Danielle! That's a great score on the CPC! You should be proud of yourself!
There will be success and failure, but y'all will get there! Keep on keeping on!!
Thanks ladies!!
Well, I just joined the club---60% on Module III Coding Exam 6. Have done pretty good so far and even felt good about my Exam 6 submission because I'd worked so hard on it. Thanks for the words of encouragement, Ladies, and for for reinforcing that we're all in this together. We should all be proud that we've come this far. And thanks, Linda, for viewing poor grades as a learning opportunity. Much hard work ahead with much guidelines and resources review.
Keep at it. I did better on the last exam in Module III. I really took my time and eliminated a lot of distractions around me. It's all a learning process :-)
Thanks, Nicki! Good luck on the CPC exam. I bet you do great.
Hey all,
Just for clarification for me, when you are talking about exam 6 are you referring to section 6 which is the Genital Systems or Chapter 6 which is Pathology? I am getting ready to start the Pathology section right now.
Thanks
Oops, lesson #1 of coding is paying attention to numbers. I am only in Module II and it sounds like the rest of you are in Module III. However, now I know to pay close attention to exam 6. Oh joy!!!!
Danielle- I know this post is a bit old- But I am so glad that I came across this thread. I did the exact same thing. I turned in CCW Exam 6 thinking I did ok on it - maybe second guessed a couple after hitting the submit button - and was devastated when I got my score. I failed it! I have never failed anything so it was a shock- especially with my CPC coming up. I am glad that I read your post and saw that you took the exam and passed despite the fact that the exam grade was not the greatest. Thank you for putting your experience here to read!
Add me to this group! I did great at the beginning of Module III, struggled just a bit Coding Exam 4 and 5, but still felt okay about it all. Then, I got my Exam 6 grade. Wow is all I can say. Just when I felt like I could actually maybe someday do this, the rug was pulled out from under me. Unfortunately I have no great words of wisdom, just wanted everyone to know you're not alone. I have the CPC scheduled for 11/15, so all I can do at this point is try to slog on. I will say though that I did learn from my mistakes on this. Glenda and Sue were both very helpful.
I am getting ready to submit Exam 7 over the weekend. So need a better grade to boost morale!
Good Luck all, keep us posted on how 7 turns out for everyone. :)
