So I've been hearing a lot about ICD-10 lately and I won't be ready to graduate for quite some time yet, but does anyone know of anything I can do as a newbie and student to be ready. I did recently complete Module I which is ICD-10-CM but I'm not sure if there is anything else I can do to be prepared. I'm feeling pretty anxious about it but I'm not quite ready for the CPC or CCS yet. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. :-)
I am not going to be helpful (sorry), but just thought I would let you know you are not alone! I just started last month, not quite done with Module 1 yet, but working on it! I have been seeing that with ICD 10 going live there are many more job opportunities coming, even for newbies because of the work load. (More so for us Andrews grads who have two certifications!).
I can only hope that when I do graduate and get certified, these jobs are still readily available. I cannot wait to get started in my coding career.
By the way, I absolutely LOVE coding so far! :)
Module 4 is the CCS Prep part of the course. You'll definitely not be ready until then, but there isn't really anything else that you need to do.
Just take the course one step at a time or, as we like to put it, 'How do you eat an elephant? One...bite...at...a...time.'
You can do it. You WILL do it. I have confidence in you.
